Hi, my name is Niklas Heinzel, and I am the inventor of AZEnvy, the world’s first environmental development board based on the ESP12F. This board offers a wide range of options for makers, hobbyists, students, and developers. However, the journey from the initial idea to the final product that can be sold is full of challenges and is not always straightforward. Nonetheless, it’s a rewarding experience, driven by ambition and belief in what you’re working on.

AZEnvy Development Board

The goal was to create a multifunctional board that is compact, energy-efficient, and versatile. In my case, I use it to measure humidity, temperature, and room gases to detect early signs of mold growth in my house. This helps to prevent both financial and health damage. However, the board is suitable for countless other applications. Whether it’s monitoring a garden shed or building a weather station, the possibilities are endless. It offers an easy entry point into the world of IoT through Wi-Fi connectivity.

Throughout the development process, I tested and discarded many ideas, but in the end, this was the result. It was a challenging experience, but also highly educational, especially since I am still a student and just eighteen years old. I even patented the invention in my home country, Germany, and won several competitions along the way.

At this point, it was time to introduce the board to the community and make it available to everyone. Finding someone willing to produce and market my product, despite its strong presentation, proved to be quite difficult.

Fortunately, I found Wellcircuits.com, and specifically their marketing manager, Eric, who helped me produce and promote the product. Many thanks to Eric and Wellcircuits for being such a great partner!

The product will soon be available to everyone, and I am proud to have brought it to a successful conclusion!
