LimeNET Micro 2.0 DE (Developer Edition) integrates the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4) and LimeSDR XTRX to deliver powerful computing and RF capabilities, creating a modular wireless radio platform. Based on the new LimePSB RPCM, the LimeNET Micro 2.0 DE is a flat system (commonly referred to as the “main” board). Unlike its previous iterations, which were constrained by the less capable CM3 compute module and an integrated SISO radio, this new version offers enhanced versatility and performance.
The LimeNET Micro 2.0 DE kit consists of the LimePSB RPCM, Raspberry Pi CM4, and LimeSDR XTRX, collectively providing a complete baseband and RF solution, making it an ideal platform for a wide range of wireless applications.
Features & Specifications
The LimePSB RPCM enables access to all the connectivity and functionality of the CM4 and LimeSDR XTRX modules at its core, including:
- USB 2.0 Type-C socket (for boot and power delivery)
- Dual USB 2.0 Type-A sockets (downstream ports) or a front-panel USB 2.0 header (unpopulated)
- Gigabit Ethernet jack with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support
- Mini PCIe x1 Gen 2 slot (5 Gbps)
- 2x HDMI 2.0 ports (supports up to 4K 60Hz)
- 2x 15-pin FPC connectors for MIPI DSI display and CSI camera interfaces
- 3.5 mm, 4-pin jack for analog audio and composite video output
- MicroSD card slot
- NanoSIM card socket
- Coaxial RF connectors (4x SMA female + 4x U.FL female) for RF frontend
- Coaxial pass-through U.FL to external SMA connector
- 20-pin Raspberry Pi CM4 GPIO header (3.3 V)
- 14-pin Raspberry Pi CM4 SYS header
- 5-pin front display connector (for power, I²C, and button controls)
- Raspberry Pi CM4 UART0 header (unpopulated)
- 2-pin and 4-pin fan connectors (supports 5 V, 3.3 V, or VCC_INT voltage)
By incorporating Qorvo driver amplifiers, the 2×2 MIMO front-end module (FEM) provides higher output power, enabling broader coverage while maintaining the original frequency flexibility of the LimeNET Micro. It also includes integrated low-noise amplifiers (LNA) and SPDT switches, supporting both FDD and TDD operation modes.
