High-frequency PCB refers to a special circuit board designed to operate at high electromagnetic frequencies. High-frequency PCBs are manufactured using parts of the processes used for ordinary rigid circuit boards or through special processing methods. Typically, a high-frequency board is defined as a circuit board with a frequency above 1GHz.

As science and technology continue to advance, more equipment designs are being utilized in the microwave frequency band (>1GHz) and even in the millimeter wave field (30GHz). This trend indicates an increase in frequency, resulting in higher material requirements for circuit boards. For example, the substrate material must possess excellent electrical properties and chemical stability, with minimal signal loss at higher frequencies.
