Disadvantages of Flexible PCB:

Flexible PCBs are designed and manufactured for specific applications, making the initial circuit design, wiring, and photographic negatives expensive. Unless there is a specific need for a flexible PCB, it is generally not recommended for use in a small number of applications.

It is challenging to modify and repair flexible PCBs. Once the flexible PCB is produced, modifying it from the base map or the compiled light drawing program is complex. The surface is protected by a film that needs to be removed before repairing and reinstated after, which can be a challenging task.

Flexible PCBs are typically manufactured in batch processes, which limits their length and width due to the size constraints of production equipment.

Improper installation and connection practices can easily damage the flexible circuit, requiring soldering and rework by trained personnel.
