The GoWired Multiprotocol Gateway is a highly versatile communication hub designed for wired automation systems. It builds upon the previous GetWired Ethernet Gateway, offering enhanced power, expanded features, and greater flexibility. Powered by a robust ARM M0+ microcontroller, it boasts eight times more ROM and sixteen times more RAM compared to its predecessor. The gateway also features a dual RS485 transceiver, enabling simultaneous use of two communication protocols (e.g., MySensors, MODBUS). In addition, a CAN transceiver is included for compatibility with a wide range of home automation systems. The reliable Wiznet W5500 Ethernet chip ensures stable and secure communication, while an optional microSD card slot allows for easy expansion of the microcontroller’s memory, perfect for debugging and data storage purposes.

The GoWired Multiprotocol Gateway is equipped with an efficient power supply circuitry that supports a wide input voltage range (7-26 VDC). Power-related data, along with real-time device status, can be displayed on an integrated e-ink screen or another display option. Every design aspect of the Gateway has been meticulously considered to ensure reliability and safety, especially concerning power management (e.g., ESD, overcurrent, overvoltage, reverse polarity protection), as well as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and interference (EMI). The device is housed in a compact, four-slot DIN rail enclosure, ensuring ease of installation in control panels and electrical systems.

The project is currently being crowdfunded on CrowdSupply. Visit the campaign page and support it if you’re interested in advancing wired automation technology.
