Multi-layer PCB Structure

The multi-layer PCB is composed of various conductive materials, including signal layers, power planes, and ground planes. A typical six-layer PCB configuration consists of two outer layers, two inner signal layers, one power layer, and one ground layer. This design effectively reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and offers more flexibility in routing signals of different speeds.

Six-layer PCB Design

Optimizing the stacking of a six-layer PCB is crucial for its performance. By integrating different types of radio frequency (RF) equipment, the PCB can effectively suppress EMI and accommodate various components with different spacing requirements. During the design process, it is essential to consider the number of grounding, power, and signal planes needed for the PCB to maximize its potential.

Dense PCB Circuit Board

  • For PCBs with multiple sensitive circuits, a stack-up of signal/power/2 signal/ground/signal is recommended. This configuration provides excellent protection for sensitive traces, making it ideal for high-frequency analog or high-speed digital circuits.
  • A ground/signal layer/power/ground/signal layer/ground stack-up can effectively reduce electromagnetic interference near sources of strong radiation, making it suitable for circuit boards used in noisy environments.

Six-Layer PCB Design

Six-layer PCBs, known for their compact size and high performance, are commonly used in advanced electronic circuits. Their multi-layer construction allows for high-density circuit designs, excellent signal integrity, and reduced EMI coupling. These PCBs offer outstanding electrical performance and durability, making them ideal for complex circuit applications.
