1. Does the PCB copy board require the removal of components from the circuit board?

If the provided circuit board is a multilayer board, such as a 4-layer or 6-layer design, you must disassemble the components. The original board will undergo a dissection process, which means it cannot be returned to the customer. For a double-sided board, component removal is not necessary, but it’s advisable. Removing the components can prevent obstruction of the circuit and improve the accuracy of the later BOM measurements. By removing the components for the copying process, the success rate of the PCB duplication can be enhanced.

2. How can we ensure that the copied board files are 100% accurate?

Typically, issues in copying the board arise from the cracking process and PCB file inspection. Shenzhen Honglijie employs a comprehensive set of procedures to guarantee the clarity of the images. Once the documents are prepared, a series of inspections are conducted by professionals to significantly enhance document accuracy. After finalizing the documents, we can provide customers with clear images and detailed documentation at all levels, facilitating the board copying process.

1. Companies or individuals can also confirm the inspection independently.

2. Can you provide a schematic diagram that is 100% consistent with the original board?

The schematic is created from the PCB copy board file rather than measured with a multimeter. Once the drawing is complete, it is compared with the original PCB file, ensuring a 100% match in connection relationships. However, some data (MARK) may not provide correct pin definitions for electronic components like chips and transistors; instead, these are defined by PCB numbers such as 1, 2, 3, ensuring the connection relationships remain accurate.

3. When copying the PCB, can the component list and component bitmap be provided together?

Absolutely! You can supply us with a well-functioning circuit board, and our engineers will compile the electronic component list for you. We will also scan your circuit board in its original state and save it as an image, marking the sizes and specifications of the components, along with their soldering directions and annotations for diodes, capacitors, transistors, and integrated circuits. Our experienced engineers will source the technical data (DATASHEET) for the integrated circuit chips, facilitating subsequent circuit board welding, debugging, and maintenance.

4. What kind of file format is provided after PCB copying?

The PCB file constitutes the production file of the circuit board. Typically, we can provide the PCB file in PROTEL99 format after copying. Altium Designer Winter version (an upgraded version of Protel99 SE) is also compatible. If customers require files in pads2007 format, we can convert them; however, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this conversion.

5. Is there any way to prevent copying the board?

With advancements in technology, it is possible to copy any electronic product, though chip decryption (chip program cracking) remains particularly challenging. We recommend utilizing the latest chips and specialized encryption chips whenever possible.

6. Can the copy board achieve 1:1 accuracy?

The accuracy of the copy board relies on two factors: software accuracy and the quality of the original image. DPI indicates how many dots are present per inch; for instance, with a DPI of 800, the distance between two points on the image is 1000/800 = 1.25 mil, meaning the accuracy is 1.25 mil. The ultimate accuracy primarily hinges on the original scanning precision—higher DPI results in clearer images and improved accuracy. For general purposes, 800 DPI is often sufficient, while mobile phone boards may require settings above 1000 DPI. Our copy board files are optimized, though adjustments are made for production requirements, barring specific customer requests.

7. Will your data be sold to other customers?

Rest assured, your information is kept confidential and will not be shared. Due to a high volume of clients, customer data cannot be stored permanently. We ensure your data remains secure for three months post-handover, after which it is deleted. If you need the information later, we can recreate it for a fee. Long-term customer data is retained for ongoing cooperation but will not be stored beyond the partnership period.

8. Can you help find replacements for components that lack model numbers?

Our electronic component engineers can provide assistance in finding replacements for discontinued or hard-to-find electronic components.

9. Is your copy board file different from other copy board companies?

China’s PCB copy board industry has seen significant growth in recent years, maintaining a low profile throughout. As a specialized copy board company, we have a highly skilled reverse engineering development team dedicated to technological research. Our expertise now extends beyond PCB copying to include IC decryption, PCB design, and SMT processing technology, enabling us to offer customers low-cost, efficient solutions.
