When soldering surface mount components using a gull-wing tip, a flux pen, and the drag soldering technique, wouldn’t it be better to use flux-free solder? It seems that the rosin/flux is going to burn away anyway when it gets applied to the gull-wing tip, so what’s the point of generating those additional fumes?  That said, I can’t seem to find many options for flux-free solder, and it seems to mostly be designed for jewelry, not electronics.
