For most resin materials:
Spray Painting
Spray painting is a key coloring technique for 3D printed products. It involves applying specialized pigments to the surface of the printed item through a spraying process, creating a thin, even coating. This method enhances the visual appearance of the product, making its surface smooth and uniform, while adding vibrant colors and patterns to meet design requirements. In addition to improving aesthetics, spray painting increases the durability and oxidation resistance of the product, thereby extending its lifespan. It is second only to electroplating in terms of gloss.
A wide range of colors are available for spray painting. If the standard colors do not meet your needs, you can click on “Query Pantone color number” to select your preferred color code and fill it in the color field.

Electroplating
Electroplating is an electrochemical process that deposits a thin layer of metal ions onto the surface of a part. This process significantly enhances the strength of the underlying material while improving its resistance to abrasion, UV light, and corrosion. Electroplating can also be applied to non-metallic 3D printed items, offering additional finishing options. Moreover, the metallic layer can improve the electrical conductivity of the product, making it suitable for applications that require electronic connectivity or conductive properties.
Electroplating also offers a variety of color choices. If the standard colors do not meet your requirements, you can click on “Query Pantone color number” to select your desired color code and enter it in the color field.

Sanding
Sanding is a process used to remove layers, bumps, and imperfections on the surface of a 3D print, achieved through mechanical or chemical methods. It smooths and evens out the surface, improving the overall texture and visual appearance of the product. Sanding can also help correct flaws or defects that may occur during the printing process, enhancing the precision and quality of the finished item.
This process enhances the surface quality of the product without altering its shape or structure, making it suitable for a wide range of 3D printing materials, especially those with intricate designs.
For Nylon Materials
Spray Painting
Spray painting can also be applied to nylon prints.
Dyeing
Dyeing is typically used on more absorbent materials, such as nylon, which is well-suited for this method. The dye penetrates or adheres to the surface of the print, chemically reacting with the material to create a stable color. However, the dyeing process may result in uneven coloring, leading to variations or mottling on the surface, which could impact the overall appearance of the product.
There are many color options available for dyeing as well. If the standard colors don’t suit your needs, you can click on “Query Pantone color number” to select your preferred color code and fill it in the color field.
However, dyeing is not suitable for HP-PA-12 nylon.
